Kaabil directed by Sanjay Gupta stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam in the lead roles. As shown in the trailer, both these actors play visually challenged people. A couple who is in love and there happens to be a tragedy in their life. How does Rohan (Hrithik Roshan) deal with this? Does he accomplish his aim forms the crux of Kaabil.
The film has some really well-established romance. The love scenes between Hrithik and Yami are very convincing for the viewer and the events that follow become justifiable, thanks to the chemistry they share. Hrithik Roshan has pulled off an amazing performance. His hard work is evident throughout and Yami supports him well making the acting department work.
Kudos to director Sanjay Gupta for his treatment in the second half. What is surprisingly nice about Kaabil is that, just in a few minutes into the movie, we know what exactly we are going to witness for the next 2 hours. In Spite of the script being predictable, the director has scored well with the suspense elements and the interesting action scenes that require a smart choreography.
The screenplay in the second half is very commendable and the only negative is the item song that was not required. Adding to that, the use of poor computer graphics in few sequences is a downer. Edit by Akiv Ali is good while Rajesh Roshan’s music could have been better. There is some really good detailing right from the first scene of the film.
The biggest strength of Kaabil is the intelligence and smartness of the director in his story telling. The film has nothing to brag about but it does not disappoint the moviegoer in you as the presentation is very neat. In spite of a few unrealistic moments, the overall picture is convincing and Hrithik Roshan’s performance boosts this engaging revenge story. Kaabil is a good attempt by Sanjay Gupta and team.
